Salary: GBP50000 - GBP50000 per annum + Pension, car, bonus

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Secure optimized sourcing of quarries exploitation and overburden activities in aggregates and cement quarries in Europe
  • Secure optimized supply of raw materials to mortar, ready-mix and related business, including the search of new products, negotiation and administrate of contracts.
  • Support manager raw materials management Europe by delivering relevant and consolidated data / report

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Secure optimized sourcing of quarries exploitation acitvities 

  • Conduct the tendering process according to Strategic Sourcing Methodology to ensure the efficient supply with the optimal cost.
  • Contract preparation and administration
  • SAP implementation
  • Prepare budget in coordination with operations 

secure optimized supply operation with mortar raw materials, additives raw materials and readymix raw materials

  • Conduct the tendering process according to Strategic Sourcing Methodology to ensure the efficient supply with the optimal cost.
  • monitor quality of raw materials in coordination with local operations and drive corrective actions with supplier where necessary (claim management)
  • Contract preparation and administration

 develop new raw materials to improve operational cost and quality

  • analyze local and international markets
  • identify and negotiate alternative sources to improve quality and cost
  • coordinate trials to test new materials
  • perform audits at supplier site

data analysis and reporting - analysis consumption and prices of raw materials and services. develop, run and interpret relevant KPI in order to highlight risks and opportunities on a weekly basis tailormade basic data as an input for raw materials management system.support raw materials manager with data extraction and analysis on regional level. participation in internal and external networks - engagement in internal and external networks / associations (tbd based on local requirements and expertise

The most important decisions that this job makes without approval are: Responsible to develop and implement the sourcing strategy for the assigned category within their individual supplier spend portfolio according Strategic Sourcing Methodology. Provide recommendations with coherent logical justification for the selection of suppliers. Ensuring the inclusion and acceptance of internal stakeholders through the meeting of agreed specifications, lead times and cost. Decide on final legal and commercial terms agreed with vendor through negotiation, ensuring company position is acceptable to our Legal and Commercial standards. 

Challenges of the position - Describe a typical problem, a complex problem, and long-range challenges that are faced in this job: Ensuring Operation support and comply with the strategy. Ensuring Procurement have an early involvement in the purchasing process. Seeks approval to implement change. Ensuring at the end of a negotiation that the contract is finalized, published, and implemented in SAP. Frequently, doing the implementation. Maintaining relationship with the Vendor to ensure that the contract that was negotiated is adhered to.

Internal Relations - What type of service is delivered? Attend operational management meeting, ensuring business area Directors are informed about Procurement activities within their business area. Liaise with the Business Managers specific to the commodities being negotiated. To work closely with all operational staff managing the non-procurement scope purchasing. To provide guidance on consolidation opportunities, to maintain an open dialogue on activities and to share expertise, advice and guidance. Develop a close working relationship to share ideas, develop strategies and to leverage global spend.

External Relations - What type of service is delivered? Negotiate with suppliers to agree acceptable terms and conditions. To maintain the supplier relationship. Developing new relationships to leverage value. Maintain networking with colleagues and sharing best practices

Education and Experience - Bachelor (degree) and Master, Engineer with knowledge of PC programmes: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and SAP. Language skills: English and French written and spoken
Experience - 
3 years Experience in Procurement (negotiation experience). 2 years Experience in Quarry Operation or quarry sourcing activities

Competency - Technical Skills - Negotiation. Dominates in Negotiation, Contract Negotiation, Negotiation Strategy, Strategic Sourcing Methodology, Project Management, Finance for Project Evaluation and is Analytical.
Technical knowledge. Deep knowledge of quarries activities, products and materials and their application. Deep knowledge of supply market trends and supply chain management concepts. Understands and applies principles of cost accounting. Knowledge of the aggregates/cement/concrete production process. Understands the company’s business strategy. Knowledgeable of product quality requirements and is able to identify potential problems. Workable knowledge of inventory control and management. Understands right time concept. Understands purchasing role in capital equipment buying.
