Job Summary

Responsibilities will consist of interacting with consumers regarding questions and/or complaints on Spectrum Brands – Global Pet Care division’s portfolio of pet products with regards to their use and application. These interactions may also include in-depth consultations on the technical aspects of the products which will require the ability to learn and retain product knowledge on a wide variety of products. This is an off-site part-time position that must be able to work independently. Position work hours are 6:00pm-9:00pm ET Monday-Friday and 11:00am-6:00pm Saturday.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • (75%) Handle routine consumer inquiries/complaints relating to Spectrum Brands pet products. This includes telephone, and email correspondence with consumers. These interactions must be conducted in a calm, cordial, and professional manner as the representative is the face of the company to the public.
  • (15%) Enter consumer complaint data into a claims database using appropriate coding for use by QA and process warranty fulfillment orders in accordance with training.
  • (5%) Assisting Consumers in placing orders for Spectrum Brands pet products listed on the ecom section of our branded websites
  • (5%) Other duties as assigned including maintaining contact data counts on general questions/requests not required to be entered into the claims database.


Education and Experience Profile

  • 2+ years of college-level coursework in Biology, Animal Science or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years experience or combination of education and experience required. Previous experience in frontline customer service (e.g. retail sales/help position) or Call center experience preferred.
  • Experience handling/caring for animals is a plus.


 Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills are required. Experience with keeping fish, domestic birds, small animals is highly desirable. Experience working with dogs and cats in a veterinary or grooming setting is also a plus.
  • Candidate must possess problem solving skills and the ability to work with broad spectrum of consumers.

Work Environment

This is an off site work from home, part-time position that must be able to work independently.
