Job Summary

As Territory Manager, you will target builders and wholesale distributors in the construction industry, as well as support several dozen existing customers. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you'll drive the sales of one of our premier brands, focusing on the wholesale channel including distributors, builders, and showrooms throughout this territory. Taking ownership of an existing book of business, it will be your mission to retain and grow your established accounts as well as develop and close new business. Initially, you will focus the majority of your time on existing customers, building credibility, trust, and strong relationships. As those relationships develop and stabilize, you’ll be pursuing new accounts, increasing our market share, and building a lucrative career.

 

  • (20%) Assume management of established direct customer accounts.
  • (20%) Maintain and grow market share through wholesalers who already use our products, and convert customers who use competitor's products.
  • (20%) Develop a territory strategy focused on the largest opportunities to gain share while keeping a keen focus on existing business.
  • (20%) Develop and execute market specific strategies in order to expand the depth and breadth of offerings within key accounts.
  • (20%) Take a consultative approach, listen and understand the needs of clients and prospects, and deliver well-formulated proposals that align our product features and benefits with their requirements.

 

Education and Experience Profile

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience, ideally in the construction industry
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience calling on wholesale distributors, builders, showrooms, architects or similar



Required Skills

  • A strong work ethic, hunter mentality, love of sales, and the drive to get out in the field and support existing business and/or pursue new business daily
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to use a consultative sales approach
  • A customer-centric orientation and excellent relationship building skills
  • Superb interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • A positive, energetic attitude
  • Initiative, drive, and out-of-the box thinking

 

Preferred but not required :

  • Experience with a wholesale distribution sales model
  • Experience and proficiency with Salesforce.com, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • P&L management experience
  • In addition to these skills, you must be willing and able to travel at least 35% - 45%of the time.
  • You'll operate out of your home office and spend the majority of your time out in the field 4-5 days. Our preference is that you are based in the Seattle area.
