Industry: Electronic Manufacturing within the Water Treatment Technology Industry providing complete solutions for water treatment and innovating in key areas such as sustainable development.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced EICA Design Engineer, required to assist the project team in the delivery of all aspects of EICA design in a full range of services which include mobile water treatment, water treatment chemicals, laboratory, healthcare and water recovery systems.
Projects are typically to deliver process plant, equipment and technology within the industrial, healthcare and pharmaceutical pure-water sectors in the UK. The projects involve mechanical and electrical equipment, low-voltage control panels, electrical installation, PLC software control systems, operator interfaces and process instrumentation.
The role will require you to work alongside the current EICA Design Engineers to become familiar and knowledgeable in the specific technology used.
The role is shared across 2 business units. The primary role and location is at High Wycombe. The secondary role and location is at Birmingham. The division of time at each location will vary depending upon workload but is anticipated to initially be 60% at High Wycombe.
EICA Design Engineer Requirements:
- Degree (BEng, MEng, BSC, MSc) in electrical engineering, electronic engineering or similar electrically oriented course
- Proven experience in an EICA design role, although a graduate will also be considered for the role.
- Good communication skills for interfacing with colleagues
- Knowledge and experience of general process plant / equipment
- Knowledge of PLC programming software
- Experience and knowledge of water treatment sector would be an advantage
- Ability and experience of being able to work to a dead-line and to plan tasks around the timescales of others, with excellent time management skills
- Without direct supervision to have an ability to proactively find information and answers so that design work is allowed to progress
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Technical competence and excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of Google Application Suite and/or Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- A full UK driving licence is required for this role
EICA Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Providing technical advice on all aspects for specification and procurement of control panel, MCC, cabling, systems integration, process instrumentation and other electrical equipment and various process plant and packages
- Producing load and instrument schedules
- To understand and develop the requirements of the process design to define the control requirements
- To ensure detailed EICA interface information is available to subcontractors in order for their design to be completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Reviewing of subcontractor drawings and specifications against client and specifications
- Detailed checking of documentation including schematics, cable schedules, functional design specifications, HMI mimics etc
- Providing EICA input into design activities by other disciplines (process, projects design)
- Contributing to the detailed EICA content of P&ID’s
- Conducting detailed technical bid evaluations of quotations prior to placement of subcontracts and purchase orders
- Reporting internally on EICA aspects against budget and programme
- Liaising with customers and end-users as required
- Conducting factory and site tests of control panels, MCC’s and PLC/HMI software
- Conducting inspections and tests for electrical equipment and miscellaneous plant
- Responsible for EICA design aspects of installation and commissioning
- Visiting sites for meetings with clients, meetings with site team and for occasional installation supervision and commissioning
- Providing assistance to tendering department in all EICA aspects of tenders, including preparation of specification, schedules and drawings for enquiries and for assessment of returned quotations
- Assisting with the preparation of contract programmes and budgets
- Familiarisation with standard products, technology and control systems
