About this Role

This Senior Quantity Surveyor position offers an outstanding opportunity to drive commercial operations for a specialist steel fabrications division in the West Midlands. You will lead commercial management across a diverse portfolio of steelwork and fabrication projects supporting major infrastructure schemes.

  • Drive commercial strategy across bespoke steel fabrication projects to maximize margin performance and profitability.

  • Prepare detailed monthly cost and value reports (CVRs), cash flow forecasts, and risk assessments.

  • Administer live NEC and IChemE contracts, securing full entitlement for variations, scope changes, and final accounts.

  • Manage subcontract procurement, lead supplier negotiations, and oversee valuation and accrual cycles.

About You

You are a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in structural steelwork, metal fabrications, or direct delivery engineering. Your expertise includes robust contract administration, cost analysis, and proactive risk mitigation.

  • Demonstrate proven quantity surveying experience within steel fabrication, structural steel, or specialist manufacturing.

  • Possess strong working knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE contract forms, alongside sound understanding of Construction Law.

  • Show extensive experience in subcontract procurement, monthly cost forecasting, CVR preparation, and dispute resolution.

  • Hold strong numerical and IT literacy, with an HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or RICS membership being highly advantageous.
