Electrical Designer - Automation

About the Role

As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed electrical and control system designs using EPlan Electric and EPlan Pro Panel. You will produce a full suite of documentation, support project delivery, and collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning teams.

 Key Responsibilities

• Electrical system design for a variety of projects using EPlan Electric and EPlan Pro Panel
• Creation of project documentation including title pages, revision overviews, layouts, diagrams, parts lists, and reports
• Production of BOMs, wire labels, cable labels, and device tag labels using Excel
• Importing and exporting drawings to and from DXF/DWG formats
• Ensuring all designs comply with relevant HSE, ISO, and industry standards
• Providing technical support to manufacturing, installation, and commissioning teams
• Conducting safety hardware validation using SISTEMA
• Working collaboratively to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

What You’ll Need

• HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Designer
• Strong working knowledge of EPlan Electric and EPlan Pro Panel
• Understanding of electrical and control components
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
