A large mental hospital in South Dublin has an opportunity for a Phycologist



Role:

Essential:

A recognized third-level degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with first or second-class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours were obtained in that subject, and which is accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
A recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
At least 1 year of satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology.
Applicants must demonstrate that they have acquired, in appropriate health settings (i.e. Adult Mental Health/Psychiatry of Later Life), at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification, or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist in adult mental health.

Desirable:

Post-qualification experience working within adult mental health/psychiatry of later life.
Experience working within a mental health rehabilitation setting/framework.
Training in cognitive-behavioural therapy.
Training/expertise in at least one other therapeutic modality (e.g. family therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, schema therapy, emotion-focused therapy, compassion-focused therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy).
Have good knowledge and experience of health, safety, and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organisation.
Be able to illustrate a high level of verbal and non-verbal skills in order to effectively communicate with and relate to patients, visitors, colleagues, management team and board members.
Experience working in a hospital setting.
