We are currently working with a highly respected organisation in the Education sector, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer. This is a temporary, fixed-term contract where you’ll play a key role in supporting the payroll function and contributing to ongoing process improvement initiatives.

About the Role
Reporting into a supportive Finance Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing within a complex environment. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process end-to-end payroll across a medium volume environment
• Manage leave entitlements including Long Service Leave, parental and maternity leave
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of superannuation and taxation
• Interpret complex EBAs and Awards
• Handle terminations and redundancies with accuracy and compliance
• Respond to payroll queries and manage the payroll inbox
• Provide clear and professional communication with internal stakeholders
• Support ongoing improvements and process efficiencies
Skills and Experience
• Demonstrated experience in full-function payroll within a complex organisation
• Exposure to Synergetic is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, EBAs, and Awards
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Proactive mindset with a drive for process improvement
