Salary: GBP36900 - GBP56500 per annum

Location: Glasgow / Dublin / Perth

The Role

SSE Renewables are responsible for the development, construction and operation of the group’s wind and hydro assets. We have a strong portfolio of operational renewable generation assets as well as an industry-leading development pipeline of projects across the UK and Ireland, particularly in the field of offshore wind. The SSE Renewables Engineering Centre are at the heart of this exciting business and we are currently recruiting for C&I / SCADA Engineers to grow our team to meet the demands of such an exciting build programme.

As a C&I / SCADA Engineer, you will primarily be working as discipline Lead Engineer as part of multi-discipline project teams during new build project design development and construction activities, as well as extension / overhaul projects, primarily on Offshore Wind, Onshore Wind and Hydro projects.

Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for experienced C&I / SCADA Engineers who are highly motivated, capable and committed to the highest standards of delivery.

Previous experience of working in the Renewables industry would be desirable. We would also be happy to hear from candidates who have relevant experience in other industries, who can demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and professionalism and a track record of success in a fast-paced project environment.

A good knowledge of SCADA systems design, configuration and commissioning is essential. Desirable skills include: -

-Working knowledge of the main control systems industry IEC standards and commonly used communication protocols

-Experience of producing high quality specifications and negotiating contracts on large-scale construction projects

-Knowledge and experience of HV electrical protection systems

-Knowledge and experience of HV grid control systems

-Experience of PLC design, configuration and commissioning

Ideally you will be a Chartered Engineer and member of the Engineering Council, although we are happy to speak to candidates who are working towards Chartership and we can provide support to successful candidates in achieving this.

As an individual, you’ll be an excellent communicator with the ability to engage effectively with varying levels of stakeholders across the business and beyond.
