Team Leader

Team Leader (TL20) Telford, England

Salary: GBP25000 - GBP25500 per annum

An excellent opportunity for a Team Leader to join a market leading manufacturer based in Telford.

Job summary:

To organise, lead and direct resources and material efficiently within the assigned area to meet customer orders effectively, achieving operational targets in line with Company policies and procedures.

 

 Key Tasks:

  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment ensuring that safety procedures are followed by you and team members. Identifying any hazards and agreeing actions to minimise risks to the team
  • Develop close cooperation between fellow Team Leaders to support material flow
  • Manage the production plan to ensure that the section achieves its requirements in accordance with the agreed plan ensuring on time in full (OTIF) and to the required quality and cost standards
  • Progress chasing of the production plan throughout the week and month to fulfil demand
  • Manage senior operatives and staffing on lines to efficiently meet demand, including overtime
  • Identify training needs and cross train a balanced team and maintain records
  • Provide direct line support and be prepared work on lines to cover increased load or absences
  • Actively practice, encourage and coach team members in continuous improvement techniques within your area, ensuring swift root cause analysis, containment, and sustained corrective actions
  • Daily briefings, PPE, maintenance checks and toolbox talks
  • Communications with other areas of the business including Sales and Customer Services
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and communicated such as holidays, absence forms, job completion transactions, improvement progress, Requests for Change (RFC)
  • Support engineering design in development of prototypes and samples for new products
  • Adhere to and support the maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP) carrying out regular checks to ensure procedures are followed and quality standards achieved.
  • Maintain discipline within your area reporting breeches by your team members to your supervisor
  • Deputise for colleagues in their absence, including supporting other team leaders
  • Take a proactive approach to maintaining the company’s ISO 14001 & 9001 accreditations.
  • Any other reasonable requests to support the smooth running of the company

Experience

A proven track record in team leadership and management

Ability to demonstrate experience of production plan responsibility

Strong problem solving and process skills

Organised and can prioritise tasks against tight time constraints.

 

Education

Must be proficient in English and maths.

Computer literate
