Learning Support Assistant Term Time Required In School (SBD597) West End, England
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic LSA / Key Worker to join a welcoming prep school in Hampstead from September 2026.
Location: Hampstead
Contract: Term time only, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start date: September 2026
The successful candidate will support pupils in Years 2 to 3, including key children, and will play an important role in helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This post requires strong experience in planning age-appropriate activities, carrying out observations, and building positive relationships with parents, teachers, and the wider school team.
The role of the Key Worker is to provide high-quality support to the class teacher and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring a nurturing, engaging, and well-organised learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with individual pupils and small groups to support learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Plan and lead appropriate activities in line with the needs of the children and the wider curriculum.
- Carry out observations and maintain accurate records of pupil progress and development.
- Build effective working relationships with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in all pupils.
- Contribute to the pastoral care and day-to-day wellbeing of the children in your care.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working as an LSA, Key Worker, or in a similar school-based support role.
- Strong knowledge of child development and experience supporting children in a prep or primary setting.
- Confidence in planning, observations, and reporting on pupil progress.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.
- A caring, proactive, and professional approach.
- A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
