Origination Lead

Origination Lead (20238/001) Reading, England

Working for a highly successful practice across the South, you will be responsible for developing and driving business development strategies for the Corporate Finance Team. You will also be adept in engaging with existing clients and senior stakeholders to better understand client needs and collaboratively develop solutions. This is a new role working with a dynamic and successful team.

Your role:

  • The Origination Lead is responsible for developing and driving new business opportunities for the Corporate Finance team

  • The Origination Lead will be passionate about adding value and proactively engaging with potential clients to understand current and future exit requirements and having a deep understanding of how the Corporate Finance team can help in that regard.

  • Researching target lists. Targets to be, generally, owner managed business with EBITDA £1m to £2m

  • Approaching targets and explaining about the firm and how we can help

  • Preparing pitch decks

  • Attending some first meetings on their own / some with partner or director

Research:

  • Assisting the delivery team to research and identify potential purchasers for sell side mandates

  • Assisting the delivery team with research on comparable historic transactions for live assignments

Person:

  • Exposure to sales/winning work in a competitive process in order to understand best practice in this area

  • Teamwork: ability to collaborate with others in own team and across boundaries; acknowledges others' contributions; works effectively with individuals of different cultures; willing to seek help as needed

  • Have excellent writing/editing skills and ability to clearly explain linguistic concepts within a text

  • Have meticulous attention to detail

  • Experience working with Corporate Finance teams;

  • A proven track record of achievement within a client-facing professional role with strong consulting experience of closing and delivering complex interventions

  • Have a strong understanding of sales, engagement and business development processes

  • Strong commercial and risk acumen
