C2 Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business looking for an Assistant Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while working alongside experienced engineers across the c2c rail network.

The Role

Working alongside experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineers, you'll support the maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical systems across railway stations and associated infrastructure.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll receive ongoing training, gain valuable industry experience and develop the skills needed to progress your engineering career.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Supporting reactive electrical repairs and fault finding
  • Helping maintain lighting, power distribution and station electrical systems
  • Assisting with electrical testing and inspections
  • Supporting installation, refurbishment and upgrade projects
  • Completing maintenance records and job reports
  • Working safely and following all Health & Safety procedures
  • Learning from experienced engineers while developing your technical skills

What We're Looking For

  • A basic electrical qualification or currently working towards an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • A genuine interest in electrical engineering and maintenance
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Flexible approach to working shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Able to pass pre-employment and ongoing Drugs & Alcohol screening in line with Network Rail requirements

Desirable

Experience or qualifications in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Previous maintenance or facilities experience
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Rail industry knowledge
  • Sentinel PTS
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
