Project Engineer

Our client are looking for an automotive design engineer to join the Body Engineering department on a long term contract basis.

You will be responsible to act as a subject matter expert for Design Development and Validation of the Body In White static sealing system. This includes pumbables, adhesives and co-moulded baffle technologies. Liaising with programme teams static sealing engineers and suppliers. Helping to create system strategy papers for static sealing. Helping with any quality concern with any of the sealing media. Including Manufacturing Site support as required. Including fusion welding, self pierce rivets, friction stir welding and helping to implement future technologies where applicable.

You:
You're a CAD Engineer who is V5 R26 Catia Trained, and/or V6 Microsoft office literate with previous automotive product engineering experience. You will also have an engineering degree or alternative qualifications or experience. Problem solving tools and techniques, Six Sigma, 8D are required, as is being proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint with good interpersonal skills.

BIW sheet metal design for both aluminium and steel will be an advantage. Knowledge and practical use of Associated Vehicle Architecture (AVA) would be advantageous. Knowledge of Engineering Release process - AIMs, PACN's, CRIDX;s, WERS literate would also be a big advantage. If you've working knowledge of stamping feasibility, joining technologies, including sealant and adhesives, this would be advantageous. 

This is a 12 month cotract (Inside IR35) with plenty of options for extention.
