We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and expanding residential groundworks contractor with a turnover of approximately £120 million. Based in the Oxford/Bicester area, the business delivers high-quality groundwork and infrastructure packages for leading housebuilders across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Trainee Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a successful and growing business. With continued expansion plans, there is a clear progression pathway to Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The Role:
Working alongside an experienced commercial team, you will assist in the commercial management of multiple residential groundwork projects, helping to ensure contracts are delivered profitably and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
- Supporting the preparation of valuations, applications, and final accounts.
- Measuring and valuing works.
- Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management.
- Supporting contract administration and commercial documentation.
- Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Helping to identify commercial risks and opportunities across projects.
About you:
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Experience working within the construction industry (all sectors considered).
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline, or are currently working towards one (although experienced candidates without a degree will also be considered).
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in Quantity Surveying.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- A full UK driving licence and access to transport, as travel to sites is required.
