My client is a nationwide civil engineering and groundworks company based in Birmingham, currently looking for Setting Out Engineers. Supporting some of the largest construction companies across the length and breadth of the UK, they are a very well established, family-founded business that still operates with the customer focus and values they started with.

With a strong pipeline of secured work, the company delivers high-quality commercial groundwork and infrastructure projects across the region.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting out and surveying on a range of commercial groundwork projects, ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out for foundations, drainage, roads, kerbs, and concrete works
• Interpreting drawings and specifications
• Carrying out site surveys and as-built surveys
• Liaising with site management and subcontractors
• Ensuring quality control and compliance with health & safety standards

About You

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer within commercial groundworks
• Strong understanding of civil engineering drawings and specifications
• Competent with surveying equipment (e.g. GPS, Total Station)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a site team
• Relevant engineering or construction qualification preferred
