Assistant Site Engineer

The Role
A highly successful and rapidly growing civil engineering company is looking to appoint an Assistant Site Engineer to join their team on major projects in Central London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and technically minded individual looking to develop their career within a well-established business. Ideally, you will have a background in groundworks, civil engineering or construction and be keen to build your experience across a range of site engineering activities.
Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will support the successful delivery of works to a high standard, ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with setting out and surveying site works.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Support the Site Engineer and Site Manager with day-to-day engineering requirements.
  • Assist with the setting out of groundworks, drainage, utilities and concrete works.
  • Carry out levels, measurements and site checks.
  • Assist with quality control and ensure works are completed to specification.
  • Maintain accurate site records, drawings and documentation.
  • Assist with quantities, material requirements and as-built information.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
  • Help identify and resolve technical issues on site.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with RAMS, drawings and company procedures.
  • Support the wider project team to ensure programme and quality requirements are achieved.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within groundworks and rc frames.
  • Some site engineering experience, or relevant qualifications with a strong desire to develop.
  • Good understanding of construction methods and site operations.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Good IT and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a site team.
  • Relevant engineering/construction qualification would be advantageous.
  • CSCS card and relevant site qualifications.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable.
