A world-renowned business who specialises in the supply of high-quality components into the automotive industry are currently looking to recruit a Supplier Quality Engineer. This business is developing evolutionary and revolutionary solutions to the industry, launching more than 20 new products in the last couple of years.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with all critical partners to improve quality and business outcomes, including: external suppliers, external customers, and internal customers and stakeholders, such as Purchasing, Manufacturing and Engineering.
• Learn and apply industry common Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes
• Industry Action Group (AIAG) tools, and specialty tools to develop or improve an external supplier’s manufacturing process.
• Become an effective auditor by participating in external supplier audits; may lead low complexity and low risk audits after becoming a certified auditor.
• Participate in the resolution of external supplier related quality challenges; support root cause analysis, supporting development of corrective actions and support the verification of the effectiveness of corrective actions
• Participate in the quality performance planning and improvement process for a specific product type or specific segment of the external supply base

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Experience in a Supplier Quality Engineer / Quality Engineer position.
• Experience in component measurement, Geometrical Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Extensive product knowledge in Automotive Industry with focus on manufacturing processes (Casting, forging, welding, assembly)
• Experienced in Structured Problem Solving (8D), Quality Tools (Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Why’s, Is Is - Not, etc)
• Knowledge of Global quality systems including APQP and IATF 16949.
