We are recruiting for a T & I Welder Technician for our client based in the Wetherby area permanently, with an immediate start available. This position is full-time hours working 4 days a week Monday to Thursday with 06.00 am – 5.00 pm, offering a pay rate of £13.02per hour

Location: Wetherby, West Yorkshire

Responsibilities:

The position is running a T & I submerged arc welding machines in line with machine capacity and H&S requirements. To ensure all welds meet the required criteria & specification and carry out any repairs as necessary. To achieve KPI’s set by management and supervision

  • To be responsible for own activities and those of the Fabrication team within own area of responsibility
  • Operate sub-arc welding machines in line with RA/FSP/WI & and machine criteria
  • To carry out visual, dimensional on fabricated structural steelwork to the requirements of the relevant quality standard
  • To assist in the training of new starters and apprentices in the department
  • To accept relevant and appropriate responsibilities as detailed in the document – Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities to be found on the company intranet
  • Report all machine and plant faults and anomalies to the Fabrication Foreman, Maintenance Foreman, Works Manager, and General Manager as appropriate
  • Complete all quality assurance paperwork as required
  • Monitor that all operatives are correctly using appropriate PPE
  • Assist the Fabrication Foreman in resolving problem areas, to help ensure the department runs smoothly
  • To maintain one’s work area, the workshop, office, and storage facilities
  • To be the ‘first line of defense’ against inefficient or unsafe practices.
