I have a great new role for a ground-breaking startup that are a little bit different! They are developing a product to be used within a trillion-dollar industry with the aim of helping to bring them into the digital age.
They have been going through a big period of expansion as they look to open a brand new office in central Bristol next year but with the aim of the team being able to work predominantly remotely moving forwards with the occasional trip to the office a couple of times a month (or more if wanted of course). At the moment the team will be 100% remote until the middle of next year when they open the office.
They have been using an offshore team of 2 manual Testers and are looking to wind down using them by the end of this year and now recruit for their very first in-house QA.
You’ll take ownership for the whole QA process for their product across web and mobile as well as coach developers on testing. They are very invested in getting the developers to do as much of the testing as possible so part of the role will also be coaching developers in writing valid e2e tests and monitoring them. You’ll work closely with the development team to plan, deploy, and manage the test automation frameworks and help to develop the CI/CD pipelines that integrate with the test frameworks and results.
They have some basic automation in place around Cypress and Appium and are looking for someone to drive and build out the automation with the help of the developers with the aim of automating as much as possible. You’ll also get to oversee the test strategy and architecture and look at where there are gaps within test coverage.
The ideal person will be an experienced QA who is excited about the opportunity to go in and make the role your own. You’ll need to have automation experience but you don’t necessarily need to be an all singing all dancing automation superstar as the developers will be involved in the automation too and there to help support you. Any experience with Cypress would be ideal but they are very open to people from all sorts of automation backgrounds.
Salary is anywhere up to £50,000 with possibly a little bit of flexibility at the top end if needed.
