My client is an industry leaders in resource recovery, recycling and sustainable waste solutions. Due to a recent promotion they are looking for a Transport Allocator to join the team.

Skills Required

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Transport Allocator will be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant allocation of our transport fleet while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational performance. Your duties include:

  • Coordinate and allocate daily transport runs to maximise fleet utilisation and customer service outcomes.
  • Monitor fleet movements and respond quickly to operational changes, delays and service issues.
  • Support and communicate with drivers throughout the day, providing guidance and resolving operational challenges.
  • Manage driver rosters, leave planning and daily workforce coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), HVNL, fatigue management and load restraint requirements.
  • Maintain accurate transport, compliance, training and fleet records.
  • Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to coordinate service requirements and resolve enquiries.
  • Assist with fleet maintenance scheduling and asset management activities.
  • Investigate and report on service exceptions, missed collections and operational performance.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by promoting compliance, accountability and continuous improvement.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in transport allocation, dispatch, scheduling, or fleet coordination.
  • Experience within waste, recycling, scrap metal or transport related industries.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with drivers, customers and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Sound computer skills, including fleet management systems, GPS platforms and Microsoft Office.
