We are looking for a Technician - Geology for one of our clients with the following details:

Localization: TREKKOPJE site, Namibia

Contract Duration: 5 months (May – Sep)  – with a flexibility according to campaign progress

Work conditions: 12h shift work (7days/7 24h/24)

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Certification: Bachelor’s degree in geology
• Experience: First experience in a RC drilling campaign is an asset.
• Language: Fluent in English written and spoken
• Main skills: Methodical, rigorous and organized
• Driving licence

Skills required:

• Good knowledge of RC drilling sampling techniques.
• Observation skills to distinguish different lithologies and anomalies.
• Proficiency in the use of basic tools (bags, sieves, etc.).
• Organizational skills to manage several samples simultaneously.
• Ability to work in collaboration with a field team.

Activities

Preparation and management of the cuttings samples

• Collect cuttings samples directly from the drill rig.
• Prepare samples according to established protocols (division, drying, sieving, etc.).
• Ensure accurate and clear labeling of samples to guarantee traceability.
• Store and organize samples in suitable conditions.

Drilling follow-up support:

• Observe extracted materials and provide preliminary information on their nature.
• Record observations on sample quality and any anomalies detected.
• Maintain regular communication with the referent geologist in charge for any questions relating to samples or the condition of the drill rig.

Compliance with standard and procedures

• Follow drilling site safety protocols. Knowledge of drilling site safety rules.
• Ensure compliance of sampling operations with current technical procedures. Ability to follow strict procedures and ensure impeccable traceability.
• Equipment and working area: Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of sampling equipment (sieves, bags, scales, etc.).
• Manage stocks of consumables required for sampling and report supply requirements
