An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a well-established organisation undergoing a period of change and process improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership role managing a team of 5, responsible for overseeing both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including offshore resources, while driving improvements across systems, processes and payment management.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage a team of 5 and take ownership of the AP/AR function, playing a key role in stabilising processes, resolving outstanding issues and establishing sustainable processes for the future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting a team of 5, including the day-to-day management of offshore resources
- Providing direct oversight of both the AP and AR functions
- Leading the clean-up of the AP ageing, including investigating and correctly applying mismatched payments
- Establishing a regular AP payment run schedule across all regions and ensuring adherence
- Owning the resolution of Shopify/Sage API integration issues, including returns and credits processing
- Working closely with internal systems teams and external providers to resolve system and process issues
- Evaluating and, where viable, implementing the OCR solution identified by Richard Ellis
- Reviewing and improving existing AP/AR processes to improve accuracy, efficiency and visibility
- Building sustainable processes and procedures that can be successfully handed over to a permanent hire or existing team members at the conclusion of the engagement
- Supporting the Financial Controller with reporting, process improvements and ad hoc finance requirements
About You
You will be a proactive and hands-on finance professional who is comfortable taking ownership, leading a team and implementing practical solutions.
Key requirements:
- Proven experience managing Accounts Payable and Receivable functions
- Experience managing and developing a team of 5 or similar-sized team
- Strong Accounts Payable experience, ideally within a high-volume environment
- Experience managing offshore finance resources
- Strong understanding of AP ageing, payment runs, reconciliations and payment allocation
- Experience troubleshooting systems integrations and process issues
- Strong systems and process improvement capability
- Ability to establish structure, improve processes and leave behind sustainable solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Comfortable working hands-on while also providing leadership and oversight
Systems Experience
- Experience with Sage highly regarded
- Exposure to Shopify and API integrations
- Experience with OCR solutions or automated invoice processing systems
- Strong ERP and finance systems experience
