Salary: USD130000 - USD150000 per year

Our client is seeking a mature, highly capable Deputy Director of Operations to play a central role in running day‑to‑day operations at a mission‑driven investment firm. This is a broad, hands‑on operations role with real ownership across people operations, events, office management, vendors, and process improvement. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in smaller organizations, and is genuinely excited about operations. Hours are approximately 8:30/9:00am–5:30/6:00pm, with a hybrid schedule of four days onsite and one remote day, and flexibility during busier in‑person weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and oversee core office operations, including managing the front office coordinator
  • Lead people operations support including onboarding, offboarding, PTO tracking, and coordination of trainings
  • Manage and execute internal and external events, including high‑profile client‑facing convenings
  • Coordinate complex logistics for conferences, travel, passes, hotels, and strategic meeting planning
  • Serve as a key internal partner to leadership, interfacing confidently with principals and senior stakeholders
  • Manage vendor selection, contracts, and ongoing vendor relationships
  • Oversee operational projects such as CRM rollouts, travel agent selection, and new systems implementation
  • Track and support sustainability initiatives and help implement firmwide practices
  • Act as an internal champion for AI tools, learning quickly and helping the team adopt and use them effectively
  • Identify gaps in processes and proactively recommend and implement improvements

Qualifications:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in operations, office management, business operations, or a similarly broad role
  • Experience in smaller or lean organizations strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated comfort interfacing with senior leadership and external partners
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Clear, structured communicator with an “answer‑first” mindset
  • Excited by operations work and ownership
  • Interest in AI and operational tools; does not need to be an expert but must be eager to learn and teach
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
