Our client, a healthcare organization located in Manhattan is looking for a Temporary Guest Services Liaison/Staff Assistant to join their team. This position will serve from May 2026 - September 2026 and will operate on an in-office schedule between the hours of 12pm – 8pm, Monday–Friday with occasional weekend rotations. Compensation is $22/hour.
Responsibilities:
- Provide current patient location information to visitors, staff, and telephone inquiries
- Greet visitors and patients and direct them to appropriate areas of the Center
- Monitor elevators and lobby areas and explain visitation policies
- Respond to and triage all calls and walk-in requests to the Patient Representative Department
- Identify urgent calls and hand-deliver messages or use the paging system as appropriate
- Track uncollected or duplicate messages and page Patient Representatives when necessary
- Determine the nature of requests by asking appropriate questions of callers and visitors
- Locate patients through systems and coordination with other staff members
- Transfer calls to patients and provide callers with direct contact numbers
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding blocked patient information
- Notify appropriate departments of patient location or room changes
- Direct waiting family members and visitors to conference rooms when needed
- Provide clear directions and information regarding departments, services, and staff
- Inform visitors of relevant policies, procedures, and visitation guidelines
- Assist visitors with local accommodations such as hotels, restaurants, and parking
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Director of Patient Relations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Intermediate verbal communication skills
- Intermediate interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
