About the role

Working within the Acute Care Team, you will provide assessment, intervention and care coordination to consumers experiencing moderate to severe mental health concerns.

You will be responsible for:

  • Completing intake, triage and comprehensive mental health assessments
  • Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Managing complex mental health presentations
  • Providing case management and care coordination
  • Working collaboratively with consumers, families and support networks
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team
  • Participating in a rotating roster, including potential evening and weekend shifts

About you

We’re looking for a clinician who is confident working in an acute mental health environment and can hit the ground running.

You will have:

  • Relevant qualifications as a Social Worker or Psychologist
  • Previous acute mental health experience
  • Experience across assessment, triage and complex mental health presentations
  • Strong clinical assessment and risk management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Queensland Health experience highly desirable
  • Familiarity with CIMHA desirable
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to regional practice
