Permanent Social Worker | Regional Northern Territory

We’re seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a healthcare team in a regional town in the Northern Territory on a permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity for a Social Worker looking to step away from the metro environment and take on a diverse clinical role where your experience can have a meaningful impact across the local community.

The Role

You’ll provide high-level clinical Social Work services to patients, families and carers across a varied caseload, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and other community and government services.

The role will include:

• Social Work assessment, intervention and case management
• Supporting patients and families across acute hospital settings, including ED and general medicine
• DFSV intervention, risk assessment and safety planning
• Working with complex presentations within a regional and remote context
• Providing culturally appropriate Social Work services
• Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary and cross-sector teams
• Managing and prioritising a high-volume and changing workload with minimal supervision

About You

You’ll be an experienced Social Worker who is confident working independently and able to manage a complex clinical workload.

You’ll have:

• Relevant Social Work qualifications meeting AASW membership eligibility requirements
• Experience in acute hospital settings, including Emergency Department and general medicine
• Experience providing contemporary, high-level clinical Social Work services
• Experience in DFSV intervention, risk assessment and safety planning
• Strong clinical assessment, case management and advocacy skills
• The ability to provide timely, clinically and culturally appropriate services
• The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and cross-sector environments

Desirable

• Previous rural or remote healthcare experience
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
