Maintenance Engineer (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Bellshill (ML4)

Salary: £44,600 per annum

Hours: Monday–Friday, 12:00pm–8:30pm

Contract: Permanent

A leading food manufacturing business in Bellshill is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join its on-site engineering team. This is a great opportunity to work in a modern, fast-paced FMCG environment where reliability, quality and continuous improvement are key.

The role:

You’ll support production by completing planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and site services, minimising downtime and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with the schedule
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and production issues
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Complete maintenance documentation and keep accurate records
• Monitor and manage spares/stock levels for critical parts
• Support continuous improvement projects to improve reliability and efficiency
• Liaise with production teams and management on engineering activity
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements

Essential experience/skills:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in FMCG/food manufacturing (or similar)
• Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance capability
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload
• Understanding of PPM systems and proactive maintenance
• Strong problem-solving approach
• Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
