A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mill Foreman to join this independent Timber and Builder’s merchant group.
The role
Setting up and operating machines and equipment such as moulders, panel saws and spindles
Overseeing safety of operations within the mill
Supervise and schedule activities of staff on site
Co-ordinate with other departments within the branch
Accurately forecasting time taken to complete jobs to enable correct pricing given to the customer
Ensuring the equipment is operating efficiently and safely and that staff are following all health and safety regulations
Process and deliver all customer orders accurately and efficiently
Monitor and manage stock levels and participating in stock taking duties when required
Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times
Experience required
A strong understanding of the market with knowledge of both soft and hard wood timber
Experience in operating wood cutting machinery such as moulders
Working knowledge of health and safety regulations
Supervisory experience, managing a team of machinists
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Good organisation and communication skills
Able to create and maintain successful relationships
Relevant qualification in wood machinery
IT literate
Hours of work 07.00- 17.00 Mon-Fri and alternate Sat 08.00-12.30
