The purpose of this role will be to develop and implement processes to ensure financial compliance, accurate accounts receivable and accounts payable, and that internal policies are followed. This will include ensuring compliance with the company’s financial obligations, developing a 5 year business plan, monitoring and tracking the performance of the business, liaising with corporate finance to ensure accounts receivable, accounts payable and capitalisation/ depreciation of projects are recorded accurately in SAP, ensure charging methodologies are applied correctly, work with the financial auditors to produce the corporate accounts and ensure financial obligations within the Company’s Distribution Licence are met (e.g. Agreed Upon Procedures and Certificates).
The post holder will oversee the Finance Team which is planned to significantly grow as the company secures projects.
The post holder will deputise as required for the Regulation and Commercial Manager.
Main Responsibilities
Financial Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure the business is financially compliant with all applicable licences, regulations and codes
• Ensure financial accounts are submitted on time
• Ensure Certificates and Agreed Upon Procedures are submitted on time
• Ensure accurate financial reports are provided, as required, to the various industry bodies
Charging and Regulation
• Identify and influence proposed regulatory finance licence changes, proposed code modifications and potential industry development that may significantly impact the business
• Represent and promote our client at conferences, committees and working groups
Financial Control and Budgeting
• Ensure accurate operational billing systems are in place
• Ensure accurate recording of expenditure
• Ensure projects are correctly capitalised and depreciated
• Produce the 5 Year Business Plan each year and track performance against the Plan
• Monitor and assess the ongoing performance of the company
• Develop and implement effective cost control processes
Project Assessment and Offers
• Ensure project assessment and processes are compliant with our client's finance rules and processes
• Ensure charging methodologies are applied correctly
• Fully support Business Development in securing projects
Project Delivery
• Manage the financial exposure of projects
• Support project delivery
Business Support
• Ensure production of financial management information
• Support production of material for the Board Meetings
• Ensure the Financial Risk Register is current
• Support compliance with other company obligations
Education & training (required or “must have”)
• BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
• Finance qualification (equivalent undergraduate level or higher)
• Finance training
• Excellent IT skills

• Qualified accountant (CFA/CPA or similar)
• Stakeholder management training

• Suitable commercial qualification

• Demonstrable experience with large Corporate finance systems
