Project H&S Manager (BBBH691628) Bristol, England

Salary: GBP500 - GBP550 per day + Competitive day rates

The candidate will be involved in the development of projects and probably somewhere next year also with construction and commissioning on site. In the initial months there is no construction/sitework, it will be mainly preparing the H&S for the upcoming construction projects.

For this role we are looking for a candidate that also can:
• participate in H&S studies (e.g. HAZID, HAZCON, HAZOP, SIL, Model reviews, Facility Siting etc.),
• support Engineering with H&S in Design Topics (Process Safety)
• develop the H&S strategy/plan for the project(s)
• support and advise Project management
• write Invitations to Tender / Employers Requirements for contractors
• do the (Pre-)Qualification and bid evaluation of Contractors
• Review of plans and other H&S documents of Contractors

Duties:
• provide visible support and leadership to all Projects and stakeholders by providing interpretation, training, technical review and support, regulatory guidance and governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of our client’s H&S program.
• lead/support incident notification, investigation and reporting process.
• Develop their project specific H&S plans, Employers Requirements, review of (sub)contractors, review of hazard assessments and deliverables.
• Participate as required in engineering, construction, commissioning and operational readiness reviews or other forums relevant to project success.

Qualifications
• Professional H&S diploma/certification and/or bachelor’s degree in safety or related field with additional certification in CDM, NEBOSH Diploma ideal but NEBOSH certificate qualified as a minimum/ NVQL4 or equivalent
• 5+ years of demonstrated professional experience in a similar leadership role in managing Construction Health and Safety, including up to H&S staff direct reports and managing (sub)contractors.
• Experience with managing and conducting safety compliance and leadership training
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
• Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills
• Working knowledge in applicable regulatory compliance, as well as all UK and local H&S requirements

The only travel anticipated with this role is to and from the office and project sites in Bristol. Business meetings may require additional travel (e.g. London).
