About the role

Our client, an agency of the Irish Government, has an urgent requirement for a Contract Unified Communications (UC) Engineer to play a key role in an upcoming project.

Based at our client’s offices in South Dublin, this role is initially for a 12 month period with a possibility of extension. Overall, the role offers very generous daily contract rates, great working conditions and superb scope for career development.

Key responsibilities of role:

• Ensure the ongoing stability and further development of the Lync environment and its integration with other UC services (including Microsoft Exchange and Avaya Aura Communications Manager and related systems)

• Lync Account Management, Queue Administration, Client/Server configuration and all other required support/administration including hardware and services;

• Respond to requests from System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM) in a timely manner while ensuring minimal service downtime

• Security management to include anti-virus, patch and update management to help mitigate risks to service quality.

• Capacity management for servers and applications – measure and assess platform capacity in order to meet future scalability of systems to ensure minimal downtime through predictable action.

• Engage in problem and change management processes including working with the technical teams to facilitate successful testing and introduction of new products to the platform - Ensure system modifications/services changes are identified, documented and supported before action

• Maintain accurate and appropriate records of all the above

 

Essential Candidate Requirements

• MCSE Communication and/or MCSE Productivity (Lync/Skype); or equivalent

• Third Level qualification Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or Appropriate equivalent

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role

• Very high standard of written and Spoken English

• Right to work in Ireland and the wider EU without the need for Critical Skills Permit or VISA
