About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist & General Physician to join our dynamic and supportive medical team

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established department delivering high-quality care across both Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine services.

The successful candidate will contribute to elective and emergency services, outpatient clinics, endoscopy sessions, and inpatient ward care, while participating in the general medical on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities

Provide consultant-level care in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine

Deliver outpatient clinics and endoscopy sessions (diagnostic and therapeutic)

Support inpatient gastroenterology and general medical ward rounds

Participate in the acute medical take/on-call rota

Supervise and support junior medical staff

Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and service development

Essential Requirements

Full registration with the Irish Medicsl Council (IMC) with a licence to practise

Evidence of competency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy

Strong clinical leadership and multidisciplinary working skills

Commitment to high-quality patient care and safety
