A genuine Desktop Engineer role – not a Service Desk analyst role, no stuck on desk and phone!

It’s an exciting opportunity for a senior helpdesk support analyst or desktop support engineer to be part of big multinational company which promotes work life balance. Candidate will form part of a team of five including the manager who are based interstate. Being the only support engineer for the region and working unsupervised, he/she should have great time management skills and someone who proactively prioritises and manages their own workload and time. Along with technical skills candidate should have good communications skills.

The role is split into two parts, regional desktop support where this candidate will have to support projects in whole Eastern region, so must be willing to travel to regional sites. The other half is actioning escalated tickets from service desk team and project work assigned by team manager.

 

What we expect you to do

  • Provide remote and onsite technical support, troubleshooting and providing resolutions to issues on hardware, software and mobile devices
  • Laptop, desktop build/image deployment.
  • Conference room setups including AV, VC equipment and online meeting configuration and support.
  • Liaise with the various local and international support groups for Incident escalation, Request fulfilment and Change Management.
  • Help internal team with new site setups and old site decommissions
  • Build and strengthen working relationship with relevant network escalation groups to assist in effective resolution of customer faults.
  • Maintain technical and process knowledgebase to maintain currency and relevancy

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in helpdesk / desktop support (3+ years)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills in a medium to large business environment.
  • Excellent time management, planning, organization and administrative skills.
  • Flexibility to work in a high volume faced paced environment.
  • Experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding deadline management skills with the ability to adjust with flexible priorities.
  • Technical Knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 10,MS Server 2008, MS Windows 2012, MS Office 2013 and 2016
  • Exposure to SCCM, Active Directory, Networks/Switches/Routers.
  • Experience in the resolution of network faults and understanding of TCP/IP based networking protocols
  • Current Drivers Licence
