OVERVIEW: The Benefits & FMLA Coordinator plays a vital role in administering employee benefits and managing leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and other statutory or company-sponsored leaves. This position ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, supports employees through the leave process, and collaborates with HR, payroll, and third-party vendors to deliver an efficient and compliant benefits experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicative, and knowledgeable in HRIS systems and benefits legislation.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, in-office Monday-Thursday, remote on Fridays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the administration of all employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, accident, disability, and wellness benefits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to FMLA and other leave programs, providing clear guidance on eligibility, documentation requirements, and timelines.
- Oversee the full life cycle of leave administration, including FMLA, personal leave, and other statutory or company-sponsored leaves.
- Coordinate with employees, managers, and third-party administrators to ensure streamlined leave and return-to-work processes, including communication of leave status and reintegration plans.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date leave and benefits records in HRIS, ensuring data integrity across all platforms.
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries related to benefits and FMLA via Zendesk tickets, emails, and phone calls, providing resolution and follow-up as needed.
- Prepare and submit government filings and reports, including EEOC, OSHA, ACA, and FMLA-related documentation.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Benefits Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in benefits administration and leave management, including FMLA.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
