Staff Accountant (entry-level)

Overview: The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting month-end close, financial reporting, payroll processing, budgeting support and multi-system accounting operations. This role works cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial data, support system transitions, and maintain strong internal controls in a growing, multi-entity environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and perform monthly close processes
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, payroll-related entries and inter-company activity
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Analyze variances and assist with SG&A and cost review
  • Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
  • Reconcile payroll data and upload payroll entries into accounting system
  • Maintain accurate expense coding and system integrity within NetSuite
  • Support revenue and customer profitability analysis
  • Develop and maintain accounting process documentation
  • Partner with operations and leadership to ensure financial accuracy and reporting quality
  • Assist with client-level reporting and financial analysis
  • Monitor accrual estimates and compare to actual results
  • Respond to internal accounting and system-related inquiries
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Minimum of one year of previous experience in accounting
  • Expert in Excel with pivot tables and lookup tables
  • Team player
  • Strong verbal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Highly detail oriented
