DevOps Support Engineer


Role:
Our client is a market-leading smart grid technology and services company headquartered in Limerick. Through us, large electricity customers actively participate in the electricity market to generate revenue in return for providing valuable services that help support the reliability of the power grid. Together, our clients can provide more power to the grid than some of the country's large power stations. These services are delivered via our custom-designed control and
communication systems.
Responsibilities:
-Provides level 1 and 2 support to internal customers. Developing playbooks and enhancing existing playbooks.
-Incident management - Production incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and related follow-ups to ensure closure of the issue.
-Assists with the configuration, onboarding, and testing of sites, following playbooks.
QA:
-Develops a test suite for internally developed software, manual and automated.
-Works with Product Owners to prioritize defects or enhancements
-Represents the customer when testing or discussing product features. -Software
Development
-Completes specialized side projects (R&D)
-Recommends and implements process improvements
-Works independently and seeks guidance and second opinions when needed
Requirement:
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
-Experience with Support / QA / Development.
-Understanding of JavaScript
-Understanding of SQL
-Our dev environment is Linux based so experience here would be an advantage
-Understanding of security concepts
Desirable:
-Experience with Cloud-Based Systems
-Experience with IoT (internet of things)
-Experience in the Electricity Sector / Industrial control.
-Demonstrable skills in understanding complex ecosystems.

-Strong level of English - written and spoken
