Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (17361) Newport, Wales

We are looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E/I) Technician to join a busy manufacturing site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to plant breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving electrical and instrumentation faults.
- Installing, maintaining and repairing 415V AC motors and associated control equipment.
- Installing, commissioning and maintaining safety, control and measurement systems, including level, pressure and temperature instrumentation.
- Carrying out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems in accordance with maintenance procedures.
- Maintaining hazardous area electrical equipment in line with DSEAR regulations.
- Completing general electrical installation work, including lighting systems and cable management.
- Recording maintenance activities accurately and ensuring equipment history is kept up to date.
- Updating electrical and control drawings where required..
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A time-served apprenticeship or recognised qualification in an Electrical and/or Instrumentation discipline.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, chemical, process or industrial environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with a systematic approach to identifying root causes.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing business needs.
- The ability to complete planned and reactive maintenance within agreed timescales.
Experience using the following systems would be advantageous:
- SAP (or a similar CMMS) for maintenance management and equipment history.
- Beamex CMX (or equivalent calibration software).
- Electrical and control drawing databases.
- Microsoft Office.
