Assembly Operative – Perry Barr (B42) | Long-Term Work | Progression to Supervisor

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:30am–5:00pm (30-minute unpaid break daily)

Paid hours: 40 hours per week

We’re recruiting an Assembly Operative for a long-term position based in Perry Barr (B42). You’ll be joining a well-established manufacturer and supplier of rubber components, primarily supporting the automotive industry (and other sectors).

This role offers career progression, with the opportunity to move into a Supervisor position for the right person. Training will also be provided on a wire cutting machine and die cast machine.

Key duties

• Working from engineering drawings to measure and cut cables to specified lengths
• Assembling small components accurately and consistently
• Packing finished products ready for despatch
• Supporting production and quality standards on site

About you

• Background in a manufacturing/engineering environment (essential)
• Able to work from engineering drawings and follow specifications
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
• Reliable, hands-on and keen to learn new machinery and processes
• Ambition to develop and take on more responsibility over time
