Job title: Blown Film Extrusion Machine Operator

Location: Telford TF1

Hours: Panama shift (rotating days/nights)

Pay: £12.85 per hour

Overview

We’re recruiting experienced machine operators for a blown film extrusion role on a Panama shift in the Telford area. The successful candidates will have machine operating experience and preferably knowledge of blown film extrusion or experience in an FMCG/manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on production role focused on quality, uptime and safe operation.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor blown film extrusion lines to meet production targets.
• Configure and adjust process parameters (temperatures, screw speed, haul‑off speed, cooling, die settings) to achieve specified film thickness and quality.
• Conduct routine quality checks (film gauge, appearance, seal integrity) and log production data.
• Change reels/dies, perform planned cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot common extrusion issues (die lines, uneven gauge, film draw issues) and escalate complex faults to maintenance.
• Comply with health & safety procedures and site quality standards.
• Support shift handovers and keep accurate production records.

Essential requirements

• Proven machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and experience following process parameters.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Flexibility to work the Panama shift pattern (rotating day/night shifts).
• Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

• Direct experience with blown film extrusion processes.
• Previous FMCG or flexible packaging experience.
• Basic maintenance skills or experience working with extrusion equipment.
