Slinger Banksman

Location: Redcar, North Yorkshire

Start Date: 22nd September 2026 (subject to vessel schedule and weather conditions. Start date may move to the final week of September.)

We are currently recruiting for multiple experienced Slinger Banksmen to support vessel discharge operations in Redcar.

This is initially a 12-day contract, with a strong possibility of extension depending on the vessel discharge schedule. Candidates must be fully available for the entire duration of the project, including any agreed extension period.

Working Hours

Day Shifts/ Night shifts

• 6:00am to 6:00pm
• 18.00pm – 6.00am
• Including weekends
• Candidates must be available for all scheduled shifts

Duties & Responsibilities

• Slinging and signalling during vessel discharge operations
• Ensuring the safe discharge of bulk materials
• Assisting with vessel cleaning upon completion of discharge activities
• Working in strict accordance with site Health & Safety procedures
• Maintaining clear communication with crane operators and site personnel
• General labouring
• Supporting safe and efficient port operations at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Slinger Banksman
• Previous stevedoring or port operations experience is advantageous
• Valid and in-date Slinger/Banksman certification
• NPORS, CPCS, or recognised equivalent qualification
• Or In-date Rigger certification
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance
• Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
• Must Drive and have own transport to get to site 
• Must attend and successfully complete the site induction prior to commencement
