Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Liverpool

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000

Shift Pattern: Panama Shift – 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm) / Monday - Friday - No Weekends!

Are you a talented Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong FMCG background? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic and expanding engineering team at a leading food manufacturing site in Liverpool.

The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be part of a close-knit team responsible for maintaining specialist machinery and equipment across the site. You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and ensure smooth factory operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production equipment and machinery
• Perform site-wide preventative maintenance
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Support factory start-up and equipment testing
• Complete documentation accurately and on time

What We’re Looking For

• Recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Strong mechanical background in maintenance
• Experience in a controlled manufacturing environment (food industry experience is a plus)
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Understanding of statutory requirements and food safety
• Proactive approach to health and safety
