We’re recruiting an experienced Toolmaker to join a well-established manufacturing business in Burton-on-Trent. This is a key toolroom role focused on the manufacture, repair and refurbishment of production tooling, supporting smooth and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture, repair and refurbish tools, jigs and fixtures to drawing and specification
• Complete planned preventative maintenance on tooling and associated equipment
• Diagnose issues, fault-find and carry out corrective actions
• Modify and improve existing tooling to enhance performance and reliability
• Operate toolroom machinery including mills, lathes and grinders
• Inspect work using precision measurement equipment (micrometers, gauges, CMM tools)
• Work consistently to tight tolerances and high quality standards

Skills & experience

• Proven experience as a Toolmaker (or similar toolroom role) within manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of machining principles and toolroom best practice
• Confident interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Methodical approach with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
