Your Role & Responsibilities
Working on a commercial/multi-room project in Durham, your primary focus will be bringing structural compartments up to tested life-safety fire standards:
-
Bat & Mastic Installation: Measuring, cutting, and fitting fire-rated coated mineral wool bat and applying intumescent mastic seals around service penetrations, pipework, cables, and ductwork.
-
Linear Gap Sealing: Sealing movement joints, head-of-wall details, and floor-to-wall interfaces using tested fire stopping sealants and backing materials.
-
IPAF Operations: Operating scissor lifts or boom lifts safely to execute fire stopping works at height and along elevated service corridors.
-
Manufacturer Compliance: Working strictly to technical data sheets, tested details, and manufacturer guidelines to ensure all installations meet strict fire compartmentation rules.
-
Quality & Auditing: Maintaining clean, tidy workmanship that easily passes third-party safety audits and sign-offs.
