The Opportunity

Search Consultancy is looking for a qualified Painter & Decorator for an ongoing contract based in South Shields. We are partnering with an established regional contractor on a site that requires consistent quality and efficient preparation and finishing work.

This is an ideal role if you are looking to secure steady, long-term employment on a local project with a solid CIS rate and dependable weekly payments.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Working on a well-organized site in South Shields, your daily duties will include:

• Surface Preparation: Sanding, scraping, filling, and priming wood, plaster, and metal surfaces to ensure a smooth, clean base.

• Internal Painting: Applying high-quality undercoats, emulsions, gloss, and eggshell finishes across walls, ceilings, skirtings, and doors.

• Neat Execution: Delivering precise cutting-in and clean lines around fixtures, fittings, and trim.

• Protection & Cleanliness: Masking off areas properly, protecting surfaces from drips or over spray, and keeping your work site safe and tidy.

• Efficiency: Working productively independently or alongside other site trades to keep the project moving forward.

What We’re Looking For

• CSCS Card: A valid Blue CSCS (Skilled Worker) card is mandatory for entry onto this site. (Applicants without a valid Blue card will not be considered).

• Experience: Proven site experience in high-volume or high-finish internal painting and decorating.

• Tools & PPE: Must have your own set of professional brushes, rollers, kettles, full painter’s whites, and standard 5-point PPE.

• Reliability: Good timekeeping, a strong work ethic, and a dependable daily presence.

• Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
