Materials Planner & Scheduler

Materials Planner & Scheduler (BBBH13155) West Sussex, England


On behalf of our client who provide spares support for both military and civil aircrafts, we are seeking a Materials Planner & Scheduler to join on a permanent basis. As a Materials Planner & Scheduler you will be involved with the planning, purchasing, and scheduling functions of the company. Your primary accountability is to ensure that all external and internal customers receive the materials required to meet their delivery schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan all internal works orders which require manual entry / progress
  • Plan all external purchase orders to suit required timelines
  • Co-ordinate procurement activities of a range of material / parts
  • Work with suppliers to expedite / defer materials as dictated by changes in the internal and external customer requirements
  • Schedule all customer orders for delivery to meet their requirements
  • Actively monitor all jobs to ensure they meet the customer demands, communicate progress to key internal / external contacts and stakeholders
  • Organises paperwork, including purchase orders, and maintain records
  • Collate information prepare and present status reports and provide output information (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Proactively troubleshoot problems



Essential Experience

  • Strong Organisational, planning and decision-making skills who has a sense of urgency, can prioritise, multi-task, and manage the expectations of internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Excellent Communication skills with the ability to effectively represent the department at internal meetings and present performance achievements
  • Methodical and Structured approach to work with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
  • Be able to work well and remain calm under pressure in a fluid and dynamic environment
  • Possess leadership skills to contribute to a cross team-oriented environment
  • Able to influence internal/external suppliers to achieve fulfilment objectives
  • Ability to proactive and use initiative and lateral thinking to solve problems
  • Must be a fast learner with a positive and can-do attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship building skills
  • Have expediting and negotiation skills
  • Have a strong customer service orientation
  • High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum) with the ability to provide data analysis and report writing
