Compliance Officer

Compliance Officer (BBBH14283) West Sussex, England

Salary: GBP35000 - GBP45000 per annum

My client is looking for a Compliance Officer to join them on a permanent basis. As the Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for working with the Group Compliance Committee to ensure that the Group’s policies and procedures are in line with regulatory and ethical standards and that internal and external stakeholders across the Group are compliant with regulations, thus avoiding legal issues or other difficulties caused by non-compliance.

Salary: Up to £45,000
Contract: Permanent, Monday – Friday 9 – 5.30pm
Location: West Sussex

Responsibilities: -

  • Conducting audits and reviews to ensure execution of Compliance standards;
  • Ensuring internal and external stakeholders stay compliant or improve compliance within both Group and external regulations;
  • Conducting investigations, when required, to discover the root cause of compliance problems when they arise;
  • Staying informed and current on regulatory standards and making sure the Group Companies operate within those standards;
  • Examining and improving auditing processes to resolve compliance issues in a timely manner or prevent them entirely;
  • Liaising with employees to address any concerns that they may have about ethical and compliance matters within a department or industry;
  • Motivating employees to not only strive to meet compliance standards but also to exceed them for operating efficiency;
  • Supporting the senior accounting officer in the execution of duties across the group;
  • Leading the design of programmes and education that improve compliance, including developing and conducting risk assessments of all group activities;


Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in appropriate subject;
  • Relevant Compliance qualification desired;
  • Wide breadth of experience in international organisations preferred;
  • IT skills
  • Good IT knowledge of all Microsoft office systems;
