Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer (BBBH17421) Kansas, USA

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Quality Engineer to join on a permanent basis. As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in the inspection, certification, and compliance of aircraft parts.

Contract: Monday – Friday
Location: Kansas

Responsibilities
 

  • Oversee and manage the inspection of incoming aircraft parts.
  • Develop and implement inspection protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as our Quality Manual and FAA regulations.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of quality inspection tools and equipment.
  • Investigate non-conforming parts and manage the quarantine process.
  • Establish and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including FAA, EASA, and other regulatory authority inspections.
  • Ensure all parts and processes comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain proper traceability and documentation for all aircraft parts, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and airworthiness certifications.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and drive improvements in processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to address quality concerns and enhance product reliability.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce defects, optimize processes, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of Repair Processes, products, and production equipment.


Education and Experience:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance/control within the aviation or aerospace industry.
  • Prior experience managing a team in a QA/QC capacity.
  • Previous work experience in an aircraft parts environment
  • Quantum experience preferred.
  • ASA auditing experience preferred.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • ISO Lead Auditor Certification
  • Strong knowledge of FAA, EASA, AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant aviation quality standards.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and FMEA.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using quality management software and ERP systems.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Standards
  • Strong leadership abilities
