- Create the datastore for storing VMs and data
- Deploy Virtual Machines and use Clones, Snapshots, templates
- Health Check for VMs and ESX host
- Maintain reliable, secure and high performing systems in a multi-domain, multi-site Windows Active Directory environment that consists of IBM servers, EMC storage arrays, VMware vSphere 6.0, Windows 2008/2012 servers.
- Maintain, upgrade, and implement improvements to the VMware virtual infrastructure.
- Maintain, upgrade, and implement improvements to the VMware Horizon VDI infrastructure.
- Maintain VM templates for building servers in the virtual environment.
- Actively monitor event logs for changes or errors and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
- Log all service requests, including detailed problem descriptions, updates and resolutions into our incident tracking system.
- Manage available virtual and storage resources within the infrastructure environment.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve problems.
- Perform upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, i.e. VDI components, Windows services, or other enterprise applications as necessary.
- Create and maintain system documentation for updates made to the infrastructure environment.
- Present / Assign LUN to esx host (Actually a storage admin task)
- Problem detection, resolution and maintenance on the following software: VMware vSphere 5.5 and newer - VMware Horizon View – Microsoft Windows 7 desktop and newer - Microsoft Server 2012 and newer
- Experience with installation, problem detection, resolution and maintenance on the following hardware: Dell Servers, Cisco UCS Servers
- Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, Microsoft Office 2010 and newer professional products
