Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Senior Credit Risk Analyst (BBBH328) Sydney, Australia

As a senior credit risk analyst, you’ll be part of a collaborative  team working on a wide variety of projects across scorecards, predictive modelling, optimization, regulatory compliance and big data using the latest tools and techniques. The team is responsible for the delivery of all analytic offerings to internal clients across within the enterprise.

 Given the variety of work involved, the role will suit a flexible individual who takes enjoyment from building interpersonal relationships as well as the patience and analytical capability to undertake lengthy projects requiring research into technical subjects, analysis of large datasets and study of complex relationships.

This role is responsible for;

  • Manage, develop and maintain credit risk scorecards
  • Analyse internal and external data to understand the credit quality and performance of the portfolio
  • Use analytical skills to identify opportunities, develop solutions and make recommendations with credit risk tools
  • Support business initiatives and participate in projects to improve the effectiveness of credit risk tools
  • Manage the policy referral rule change process and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Credit Risk Analysts
  • Liaise with senior management and various business functions
  • Work with external suppliers to identify improvement opportunities in the underwriting process
  • Monitor industry and regulatory developments to ensure credit processes are competitive and compliant

What you will bring;

  • A degree in business or related discipline is preferred
  • Previous experience in an analyst position, ideally within the finance sector
  • Analytical skills, ideally related to data analytics
  • VBA, Excel, SAS and/or SQL skills
  • Model development or Quantitative skills required
  • Visual Analytics, including Microsoft Power BI, desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, pressurised environment with the ability to meet deadlines
  • A willingness and desire to learn, with a proactive approach and a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with a level of business acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels
